This is Why I Do What I DO
Hi, I’m Kate, the proud owner of Snug as a Bug Baby Sleep. I reside in bustling London alongside my husband and our three delightful children, aged 5, 3, and 1 year.
Our sleep training journey began when our eldest was six months old, struggling with frequent night awakenings, dependent on his dummy, and needing to be rocked or fed back to sleep. With my return to work as a primary school teacher looming and the luxury of daytime naps about to vanish, my husband and I knew something had to change. We were on a mission to regain control over our nights and days, well aware of the toll sleep deprivation takes on life’s quality.
Just three nights into sleep training, our son slept soundly through the night, a breakthrough that profoundly impacted not just my effectiveness as a mother and teacher but also improved our family’s overall wellbeing. The positive changes in my son were noticeable; he became happier, ate better, and our bond strengthened as I could devote undivided attention to him.
This personal victory sparked a passion in me to assist friends and family facing similar sleep challenges. Encouraged by my success, I transitioned careers to devote myself fully to helping families achieve restful nights. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling. Leveraging my background as a teacher, I now mix my love for children and babies with guiding them towards establishing sound sleeping patterns, which in turn supports their development. Drawing on my expertise as a sleep consultant and employing techniques from my newborn plan, my youngest was sleeping through the night by just 8 weeks old.
